Don't Use Divs

October 17, 2021

Don't use divs. Really.

There is nothing that I find more appauling than an HTML document that is just div after div for no good reason. Sure, there are some cases where you have no other choice than to use a div. Perhaps you have a series of random elements that you want grouped together--that's fine. The problem, however, is when people use divs exclusively. It makes code hard to read and a lack of semantics makes it impossible for your visitors to use things like reader view.

Because of how annoyed I am by this trend, I have made this:

If you want clean code that will render well anywhere, use semantic tags.
